Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Barbara is an investor and entrepreneur with a keen interest in scalable business models, systems, processes and automation, content marketing and the power of inspired and empowered teams.
Before launching The Virtual Hub, Barbara enjoyed a financial markets career that spanned 15 years and included being a trader for some of the world’s largest investment banks, successfully trading her own money, managing relationships with some of Australia’s largest wealth management businesses and becoming an early stage investor in a number of very successful, disruptive financial services companies.
Today, she is the Founder & CEO of The Virtual Hub – a business process outsourcing company that has become one of the leading companies that recruits, trains and manages virtual assistants in the digital marketing and social media space for businesses who need to free up time and energy so they can go to the next level.
Director, Operations and Strategic Initiatives
Melanel worked in the sales and marketing field for 5 years before she started working for Barbara as her executive virtual assistant back in 2014. The year after, to meet the high demand for digital marketing specialists, Melanel and Barbara decided to build The Virtual Hub from the ground up.
She tirelessly worked side by side with Barbara for over a year before finally establishing The Virtual Hub where the fruits of her labour resulted to her promotion as Director of Systems and Operations. Now, she heads a team of over 50 VA’s strong towards their goal of providing exceptional service to clients from all over the world.
Melanel earned a degree in Communication Arts from the University of Santo Tomas and enjoys playing with her daughter or strumming the guitar in her free time.
Director, Financial Control and Business Development
Tintin has had more than 20 years of experience in the Telecommunication Industry, focusing on the Sales and Marketing Department. She is skilled in cultivating strong relationships with clients, partners, and colleagues; particularly adept at communicating with clarity and diplomacy to different individuals across all organizational levels.
She possesses strong leadership skills; able to prioritize, delegate tasks and make sound decisions quickly.
Tintin has extensive experience in developing and implementing marketing plans, business plans and programs, as well as pricing strategy; ensuring profitability of the product or service.
She is a clear and dynamic communicator; able to present marketing plans and programs to diverse audiences and a motivated team player, with a reputation for perseverance and success in Sales and Marketing.
Director, Human Resources and Corporate Planning
Gelo has more than 9 years of involvement in the BPO, Shared Services, Banking, and Hospitality industries, focusing on HR Transformation, Organizational Development, Talent Acquisition, Manpower Planning, Employer Branding, Learning and Development, Project Management, and HR Systems. He held key management roles in multinational companies, contributing to enhanced efficiency and company sustainability.
He brings to The Virtual Hub his extensive leadership experience in HR, Corporate Planning, and Change Management. His major strengths include building high performing teams, process standardization, stakeholder management, and is highly trained to
Gelo holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Behavioural Science from the University of Santo Tomas and is currently completing his Graduate studies in Industrial Relations from the University of the Philippines. He is a member of non-profit organizations, fulfilling his personal goal to help others and give back to the community. He also enjoys mentoring up-and-coming young HR professionals, with whom he shares his expertise and passion for HR.
Michelle has over 10 years of experience in the BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) industry and has held several positions during those years. A bit of a sceptic at first, she decided to leave the industry – one she considered her second home – and following a friend’s recommendation, decided to join the virtual work environment. Her first stint working from home was as an executive virtual assistant with a US-based construction and maintenance company. She decided to join The Virtual Hub in September 2016, which allowed her to tap into her ‘creative’ side, which she never thought she had.
Michelle holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Financial Management from the Saint Louis University and is currently completing her Graduate studies in Business Administration.
During her free time, she loves to pamper her dog ‘Loki’, binge-watch her favourite series and being the foodie that she is, she is on a mission to find all new good places to dine in to bring her friends and family.

Abraham Sta Maria
Learning and Development Manager
Ram began working for The Virtual Hub in 2015 after more than half a decade of freelance design work. Before his transition to the corporate world, he accumulated experience working for bigwig companies like SM SuperMalls as a stylist and copywriter for their ShopMag collateral series.
Aside from his design work that has been featured in major local magazine networks like Luxe, MEGA and MEGA Man, Ram has also written and have had his works published in some of the country’s nationwide publications.
Ram is currently the head of the Learning and Development department where he credits Barbara as his primary mentor when it comes to dealing with people’s different learning modalities, styles and personalities. He is in a constant pursuit to improve the training program to better cater to the needs of the hub.
He loves console gaming and practices the minimalist lifestyle. Ram also considers himself a pet parent to his 8-year old pitbull and his year-old rescue kitten.
Technical Training Lead
Daryl has been part of the work-at-home BPO industry since 2010. He began as a text agent for a company that offered enhanced directory assistance for clients in the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Republic of Ireland, and eventually moved on to a project that offered government information and non-emergency services to residents of New York City. Throughout his stay in that company, he moved up the ranks to become a Quality Specialist and Mentor, all the while developing training programs, analysing data and trends of the business, and coordinating with NYC clients from time to time.

Apart from working at The Virtual Hub, Daryl is also a professional theatre actor, an experienced
On his free time, he enjoys running, watching movies and TV shows, playing video games, and reading books.
Christine is one of The Virtual Hub’s Team Leaders. She has been with the company for more than two years. She started working as a Virtual Assistant to a number of clients and worked her way up the management ladder.
She’s a fun and loving mum to her son. On her spare time, she bakes and does a little bit of working out to achieve optimal work-life balance even in the comfort of her own home.
Shiela has been with The Virtual Hub for almost two years now. She graduated from Adamson University with a degree in Computer Science.
Shiela was once a Virtual Assistant for Energise Wealth under Barbara Turley and then eventually, was offered the Team Lead post. Since then, she has successfully coached and managed a good number of VAs under her wings, drawing wisdom from experience.
She is loving the work from home stint because it gives her the professional vibe and all without leaving her house. Shiela is a dedicated, stay at home mom of two grown-up girls.
Joseph Paolo Sy
Joseph Sy is a witty and funny but no-nonsense Team Leader who is in his second year in the Hub. He started as a Virtual Assistant in the hub and has managed several of the Hub’s clients before being promoted to his current position.
With over a decade of experience in sales, he now brings this expertise to mentor the VAs under his wings and lends them the wisdom he has garnered throughout the years. He believes that a harmonious dynamic with his colleagues and peers is the foundation of success, supported by the cooperation of his team members to get the job done.
Quality Assurance Analyst
Sabrina has been working as a virtual assistant since October 2016. She joined The Virtual Hub in March 2017 as a part-time VA. She is part of the Success Coach Team and acts as a mentor for the new VAs in the team.
In her spare time, she loves to read books to her 2 year old son and watch TV series and movies with her husband.
Marie Joane Quitay
Quality Assurance Analyst
Joane is one of the Quality Assurance Analysts in the Hub. Starting her career over a year ago as a virtual assistant who has consistently provided exceptional service to her clients from the Hub, she was promoted to QAA and has since contributed to the team’s excellence and innovations.
She is a mother of two and an adventurer by heart. She loves to hike and hopes to climb more mountains in the future.
Quality Assurance Analyst
Edge worked in the IT Support industry for 6 years before working as a virtual assistant in 2013. In 2016, he joined The Virtual Hub, then shortly after, got promoted to be a part of the company’s Helpdesk as the web technologies expert.
Outside his work in The Virtual Hub, Edge sings professionally at weddings and events. He is also a resident worship leader, singing in front of thousands on a weekly basis, at one of the countries mega-churches, New Life Christian Center.
